In the old days we used typewriters. I would think typing was a good way to exercise the fingers. In my exercise class one of the routine is move the fingers as if we are playing the piano.

That’s a brilliant way to retrain the brain and limber up the fingers . . . as well as the memory. On the original typewriters you really did have to “pound” the keys.
